A long-term project to transform an abandoned home into an art-house.
Built in 1957, this was one of the many empty houses caused by the depopulation of the island. With the great support of many local islanders, the house is in the process of being transformed into an art-house with the dual purpose of functioning as a guest house and gallery.
This site was also part of “100 Ideas on Tomorrow’s Island - What art can do for a better society” exhibition in 2013.
(Currently closed for construction until Fall, 2018)
*In this site, Noriyuki Haraguchi’s "The relationship of Canvas bag and Ropes" is exhibited perminantely.
