平成11年に閉校した旧百島中学校舎をアートセンターとして再活用。2010年に現代美術作家の柳幸典がセルフビルドで協働者達と共に改修工事を行い、2012年にオープンしました。ダイナミックな常設作品と特別展をご覧ください。
An art center opened in a closed down junior high school. Chu Enoki and Yukinori Yanagi's works will be on view as well as the permanent installations by Noriyuki Haraguchi, Takahiro Iwasaki and others.
百島で47年間空き家となっていた民家をアートで再生するアートハウスプロジェクト。2017年より改修を始め、昨年秋には「CROSSROAD2」の展示会場として原口典之「布袋とロープの関係」を常設展示しました。2019年夏にアート作品と宿泊する施設「乙1731-GOEMON HOUSE」としてオープン予定です。
An art house project which converts a derelict house for 47 years into an art space. Otsu 1731- GOEMON HOUSE is scheduled to open as an accommodation facility in the summer of 2019, where visitors can stay and enjoy art.

ART BASE CAFE will be open during the exhibition. We serve dishes with homemade bread from Momoshima Shiawase bakery, Ice cream with local ingredients and other snacks with a variety of drinks. Please call us ahead of time for a group reservation for ART BASE CAFE or bicycle rental.
