"DOKOKADE? GENBI + ART CAMP IN MOMOSHIMA"
The Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art opened in 1989 as Japan’s first public museum specializing in contemporary art. The museum building is designed by a renowned Japanese architect, Kisho Kurokawa. The museum mainly collects artworks created after World War II, focusing on the works that convey the relationship between Hiroshima and contemporary art. The museum is currently closed for renovation and is scheduled to reopen in March 2023. During the closure, the museum organizes the “DOKOKADE? GENBI” project to share the museum’s collection with people. In “ART CAMP IN MOMOSHIMA,” the museum is planning to share its video art collection.
